What we do
Ceilings That Look Right and Perform
A ceiling does more than finish a room - it manages acoustics, conceals services, and sometimes contributes to fire resistance. MGN Group installs the full range of commercial ceiling systems, matched to the look and the performance each space needs, with the void above sealed by our own fire stopping team where it crosses a compartment line.
Suspended Ceilings
Grid-and-tile suspended ceiling systems - the versatile, accessible standard for offices and commercial interiors, in a wide range of tile finishes.

Performance
Performance: Fire, Acoustic & More
The right ceiling system is chosen for how it needs to perform:
Fire Resistance
Where a ceiling contributes to the fire resistance of the floor above or a protected area, it's installed as a tested system to achieve the required rating.
Acoustic Performance
Systems specified for their sound absorption and insulation values to suit the room's use.
Building Regulations
Installed to meet the relevant Building Regulations requirements for the ceiling's function.
Quick answers
A secondary ceiling hung on a metal grid below the structural soffit, creating a void for services - cabling, ductwork, sprinklers and lighting - while presenting a clean, level surface. Because the tiles lift out, the services above stay accessible for maintenance, which is why it is the standard choice for offices and commercial interiors.
A grid ceiling uses an exposed or concealed metal grid holding removable tiles, so the void stays accessible. An MF (metal-furring) ceiling is plasterboard fixed to a metal frame and jointed to give a seamless, flush plaster finish - better looking, but access needs planned hatches. Many projects use both: MF in reception and feature areas, grid where access matters.
Ceiling systems chosen for how they handle sound - absorption, to reduce reverberation and noise within a room, and insulation, to limit sound passing between rooms over a partition head. Tiles are specified by their published absorption and attenuation values to suit the space, whether that's an open-plan office, a classroom or a consulting room.
Yes. Where a ceiling forms part of the fire resistance of the floor above, or protects a route beneath it, it is installed as a complete tested system - the specified grid, tiles, hold-down clips and perimeter detail - and any service penetrating it is fire stopped. Substituting a tile or omitting the clips can void the rating, which is why it should be installed by a passive fire specialist.
Yes. Replacing damaged or discoloured tiles, re-levelling and replacing tired grids, and upgrading systems for acoustic or fire performance are a large part of our work - usually phased area by area so the space can stay in use.
