Partitions & Drylining - Commercial Installation
Nationwide
From open-plan offices to fire-rated compartment walls, MGN Group designs and installs commercial partition systems across the UK - drylining, glass, demountable and fire-rated partitions. And because we're a passive fire protection specialist, when a wall needs to hold fire, it genuinely does: the rating is right and the compartment line is sealed properly.

What we do
Commercial Partitioning, Done Properly
A partition looks simple until it has to perform - to hold an acoustic rating between meeting rooms, or a fire rating between compartments. MGN Group installs the full range of commercial partition systems and gets the performance details right because we understand what sits inside the wall as well as what's on its face - including the fire stopping at the head and abutments that the rating depends on.

Our credentials
Quality, Safety and Fire Expertise
Anyone can stand up a stud wall. Getting the performance and the safety right is another matter - and it's where MGN Group is different.
Passive Fire Specialist
Unlike a general partitioning contractor, MGN Group understands compartmentation - so fire-rated partitions are installed and sealed to perform.
Systems-Based Installation
We install manufacturer-tested partition and drylining systems to their specification, so performance ratings hold.
CHAS Accredited
Health & safety pre-qualification
CHAS (Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme) is the standard pre-qualification requirement for most public sector procurement in Scotland.
IFSM Member
Institute of Fire Safety Managers
IFSM membership demonstrates ongoing commitment to professional development and regulatory awareness in fire safety management.
Standards & performance
Fire, Acoustic & Thermal Performance
A partition is only as good as the performance it delivers. The key standards our systems are installed to:
Fire Resistance (Approved Document B / BS EN 1364)
Fire-rated partitions are installed as tested systems to achieve their rated period of fire resistance and, crucially, the perimeter is fire stopped so the rating isn't lost at the junctions.
Acoustic Performance
Partition systems specified and installed to achieve the sound-reduction (dB) rating the space needs - meeting rooms, consulting rooms and demising walls.
Building Regulations Compliance
Systems installed to meet the relevant Building Regulations requirements for the wall's function and location.
Quick answers
Drylining is forming and finishing internal walls and ceilings with plasterboard fixed to a metal frame or bonded to masonry, instead of wet plaster. It is faster, cleaner and dries immediately, and it creates a service void for cables and insulation - which is why it is the standard approach in commercial fit-out.
A partition is a new, free-standing wall that divides a space - typically metal studs boarded on both faces. Drylining is the lining of an existing structure, such as boarding the inside face of a masonry external wall. Most commercial fit-outs involve both, and we deliver them as one package.
Where the design requires it, yes. Fire-rated partitions are built exactly to a tested system - the specified studs, board type and layers, insulation and fixing centres - and the head, abutments and any service penetrations are fire stopped, because that is where the rating is most often lost. As a passive fire protection specialist we install both the wall and its sealing.
Partition systems designed to be taken down and re-erected elsewhere with minimal damage and waste, so a floorplate can be reconfigured as an organisation changes. They suit offices that expect to move teams around, and they can incorporate glazing and acoustic performance.
They can do both. Single and double glazed systems are specified to achieve a given sound-reduction rating, and fire-rated glazed screens are available where a compartment line needs vision as well as fire resistance - installed as a complete tested system of glass, frame, beads and seals.
